At least three saddles identical to this pattern are found with traditional oral history "Confederate" provenance,
two of them in reputable museums. Unfortunately, there is no conclusive historical evidence known to have
survived in the contemporary records to collaborate this particular nobby pattern as a Confederate pattern.
Nevertheless, its simple construction, "abbreviated" skirts (black leather) and circumstantial evidence make it an
