Richmond Arsenal McClellan c. 1864 (likely): This may be a"Dinwiddie McClellan". Tree covered in rawhide with russet skirting leather skirts (they are cut down or torn). The quarter straps are of russet harness leather. One row of screws, iron D ring, simple roller buckles for stirrup leathers and iron saddle rings. Saddle has Richmond Arsenal clipped corner plates and brass C.S. pommel shield. The military style stirrup at right is a typical Confederate "long neck" style the other is also of military "round top" pattern. Atlanta History Museum "DuBose" collection.
